Fall 2009: Mens Trends

I’m loving the latest VMan – Issue #14! It’s photographed by David Sims, styled by (one of my favorite stylists) Nicola Formichetti, and features Joseph Gordon-Levitt wearing Prada.

With the cover story aptly titled “No Average Joe’’, (child star turned indie icon) Joseph Gordon-Levitt talks about his two high-profile films of the summer.

I saw his film “500 Days of Summer” a few days ago and I must say if you haven’t seen it already you definitely should! The retro fashion/wardrobe and the indie-music soundtrack adds to the amazing story/plot and actors in the film.

However as much as I’d like to reminisce about summer, autumn is swiftly approaching… are you and your wardrobe ready?

The three fall 2009 trends for menswear, according to Men.Style.com, are:

1.) “The Wanderers” (the bohemian-hobo look, carefree attitude, moccasins, zip-up sweaters, Adam Kimmel‘s fall/winter collection, asymmetrical clothes)

2.) “Protection Racket” (suit of armor against the blistering cold weather, look indestructible in defensive outerwear and boots, be technology savvy in the latest gadgets, wear a strict and serious attitude, Rick Owens’ fall/winter collection, edgy and tough accessories)

3.) “Man Up” (classic clothes, a man of substance, masculine attitude i.e. Fight Club, titanium frames, Ralph Lauren‘s fall/winter collection)
